Finally i would like to say is that what moves a persons heart,his thoughts,and what can even help him in his thinking towards life becomes good music for him.I would like to uphold my answer with the fact that people find also love the sounds of silence as they find their serenity in it..Thus "Silence" also becomes Good Music for some people..

There is a widespread notion these days, fostered in our current social climate that disdains value judgements, that all music is good and differences are just matters of cultural bias or personal preference. But, critical evaluation is different from personal taste and preference. Many things in life are this way: We may be quite fond of someone, yet recognize their faults, faults that are universally acknowledged as undesirable – extreme rudeness, for example; someone may treat us well, but be unacceptably discourteous to others. We are conflicted in such cases, so we distinguish our intellectual, judgmental awareness from our personal feelings, feelings that may not be entirely influenced by intellect. And in a similar way, sometimes we are attracted to music for a variety of emotional reasons: nostalgia for the past, perhaps an association some music has with a personally significant time or place, while recognizing that the music – apart from the unique meaning it has for us – has comparatively little value, or least less value, to others. We all are subject to such influences and most of us are able to distinguish these two distinct ways of responding to music. Many people do not, however. Many listeners are only concerned with what they like and do not question the why of it, and couldn’t be less concerned with what might be objectively considered good or bad. All that matters is that they like it. And that’s fine and understandable. The troublesome thing is when what one likes, based entirely on personal, individual attraction, preference, predisposition, . . . whatever, is considered what is "good" in the objective. And this is exactly how many people approach music. We all have experienced this, understand it, accept it – may even approve of it. But if we were to acknowledge, or at least concede purely for purposes of discussion, that there can be some objective criteria applied to music to justify – on bases other than our personal preferences - that some is better and some worse, what should they be? John Winsor’s ideas were quite well thought-out and compelling. But I suspect they may not be easily grasped by some of the very people who most commonly confuse personal taste with qualitative judgement.

I love music. Always have. It will always be one of the top priorities in my life.

A music performance accepted as good by a group of listeners may be rejected as 'not so good' or
even 'bad' by another group clearly shows its subjective nature. But, there are performances those
are generally accepted as good by most of the listeners present in a concert hall. What makes
some music widely acceptable?

Here are some qualities of good music:
Ø The sound of the instrument/voice should be pleasing and warmly acceptable.
Ø The performance must be in tune, in laya, in tala and must observe the general norms of the
raga. The raga delineation should be done through a generally accepted silsila (sequence for
development of alap, gat etc.) as is prevalent in the gharana in which the artiste belongs.
Ø Each musical phrase must carry some aesthetic meaning and not just the execution of some
musical habits.
Ø Musical phrases must be executed with aesthetic timing, with required density of sound,
crispness and clarity matching to the music creation needs.
Ø The speed of music progression may match with the receptivity demand of the audiences. The
listeners may comfortably play a silent interactive role as the performance goes on.
Ø There are some puritans those like the old type of instrument sounds and very faithful
adherence to the archetype music. These days such music connoisseurs are getting reduced in
number. Most of the present music lovers look for high speed tan-s, meends, gamaka-s etc.
Some look for interesting laya patterns, different speed variations, interesting starting and
ending points, etc. But, it is good that the archaic values of music may be present with its full
glory and substance.
Ø Only in appropriate mental state effective music making and receiving is possible. So, the
musician before and during the performance must be appropriately receptive to his musical
ideas so that the ideas may get the right medium for full musical expressions. The similar is
true for the listeners who should be rightly receptive to receive the subtle and brilliant
musical effects.
Ø When the inner being of the performer vibrates harmoniously with the music, this indicates
that good music taking shape and consequently this music naturally vibrates harmoniously
with the inner beings of the receptive listeners.

We all come across different hurdles in our life but there is one stylish barrier in our life which we can delineate as “GOOD MUSIC”. Definitely we are not fond of barriers but Good Music is something which always makes us stop from doing anything and unite our mind and soul with a pleasant rhythm. It eradicates the malevolence from our mind and soul.

Well who loves to take drugs and who loves a drug addict??? But there is one drug to which we all get addicted because at that moment we feel we are on cloud nine, we fail to remember everything and we tend to be happy every moment. This is what I believe to be Good Music. It is a wonderful drug I must admit. Definitely we are all drug addicts now!

Music is of different forms. Some are soft and good to hear. Some are a bit of rock and roll and some blasts out like bombs. Yeah! When it comes to bombs we are scared of being injured but Good Music heals our wounds and removes our fears.

In brief let Good Music be something which removes our worries and dries up our tears! It simply washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. Life is almost a journey through a dessert without good music.

2. It should generally have a constant tempo... (except in special phrases of song when it may slowly increase or decrease)
3. The sound quality must be good
4. The voices used should gel with each other (For example, 2 bass lines in one piece would make it sound bad)...
5. It should have an optimum level of delay, reverb and other digital effects.

This technical list is too big to be mentioned entirely here...

But then all the technical expertise will also not make good music unless and until it is written honestly...
